This was a big job—literally—featuring a 13-story, 389-unit multifamily residential complex with a six-story attached parking garage with retail space. Colwill Engineering Technologies was responsible for installing the building’s integrated telecommunications and security system, which consisted of the internal unit wiring for TV, telephone and data connections. Our high-tech, high-skilled installation also included CCTV surveillance cameras and access control and card reader systems manufactured by Brivo Systems. These inventive devices allow Radius tenants to use their smart phones as their mobile credential, allowing them to easily unlock doors and amenities.
Colwill Engineering Electrical (CEE) was involved in the project from the outset on a design assist basis, working with Ingenuity to keep the project in budget. In addition to review and cost input all systems from the structure of the service entrance equipment through apartment panels, circuitry, and fixture and fan selections the project was planned out to assure the maximum efficiency in installation through pre-fabrication of components wherever possible. CEE was responsible for all electrical systems. The project was not without challenges, but these were overcome by creative ideas and resourcefulness. Not only was the project constructed for the most part through the pandemic, but there were also some interesting unknown underground conditions and utility issues that had to be solved to keep the project on track.
